My Trip To Milan For a Masterclass
With IBSA Aliaxin Dermal Filler
As an NMC Registered Nurse I am duty bound to continue my education to ensure the efficacy and safety of the treatments I provide. Therefore I was delighted when Italian dermal filler manufacturer, IBSA, invited me to Milan for a Masterclass in the latest advancements in hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and the techniques developed to ensure a great result. Of course it was also a great opportunity to meet with other medical expert practitioners from around the globe.
The IBSA Group
Specialising in pharmaceutical research and technology applied to skin healthcare, IBSA was Founded by a group of Swiss biologists in 1945.
IBSA 's experience and competence in the pharmaceutical field have also been applied to the development of hyaluronic acid-based medical devices in orthopedic and respiratory areas as well as in dermatology and skin healthcare.
A unique aspect to IBSA is the complete control of the entire hyaluronic acid (HA) production process means a greater degree of control for the purity and safety of their products. Most dermal filler manufacturers buy-in HA from other companies.
Aliaxin Dermal Fillers
Aliaxin is the name of the dermal filler range that is manufactured by IBSA. You may also know that IBSA manufacture the well know treatment called Profhilo.
Alaixin dermal fillers are uniquely different to other dermal fillers currently available on the market. With different molecular sizes and weights of HA, they can achieve both improved skin health as well and rejuvenation where volume is required. There is a lot of research and science behind it, of which I don’t fully understand, i’ll admit. Essentially they can cultivate HA at lower temperatures meaning that the natural state of the HA is kept in tact and requires less chemical bonding.
In the practical application of Aliaxin dermal filler, the products integrate very smoothly with the skin tissues and are less likely to cause inflammation because of the purity. As an experienced injector of over 10 years, I feel that Aliaxin is perhaps the most natural looking dermal filler I have worked with.
What did I take away?
After 2 days of intensive observation, with some of the world leaders in dermal filler treatments, I came away feeling rather confidant that I am already using these techniques in clinic. What I really liked however was the application of Aliaxin for temple dermal filler treatments. Previously this always had to be deep to the bone. Now with the aliaxin technology, I am able to use this at a more superficial level with a cannula, that reduces the risks of vascular occlusion and blindness. And on that note, IBSA also included some great educational content on the anatomy as well as complication management.
I also learnt that Aiaxin is most certainly not like most other dermal fillers and I’m pleased to say this is now my dermal filler of choice. I am also going to look into the other treatment products they manufacture including viscoderm, a natural way to hydrate the skin from within. Watch this space!
