Micro-Sclerotherapy

Leg Thread Vein & Spider Treatments In Oxford

At Lumiere Medispa, we understand that visible thread veins can be a cause of concern for many individuals. Unwanted thread veins, also known as spider veins or broken capillaries, can appear on various areas of the body, such as the legs and face. If you are seeking an effective solution to address leg thread veins, micro-sclerotherapy might be the right treatment for you.

What is Micro-Sclerotherapy?

Micro-sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure for treating small to medium-sized thread veins. This popular treatment involves injecting a sclerosant solution called Fibrovein into the affected veins, causing the inner vessel lining to swell and become sticky, forcing them to collapse and fade away over time. This technique is highly effective in addressing unsightly thread veins, ensuring a smoother, more even-toned leg appearance.

Visible improvements in the appearance of your thread veins can be seen after a few weeks, with optimal results becoming evident after several months. You should bear in mind that your leg veins will often look worse for 1-2 weeks (red, swollen), so you may wish to calculate this in your planning and social events.

  • In most cases, you can expect a 60-80% clearance of thread veins and the results of leg thread vein micro-sclerotherapy are long-lasting. However, it's important to note that new thread veins may develop over time due to various factors like genetics, lifestyle, and ageing. It may be necessary to periodically undergo maintenance treatments to sustain the desired results.
